How old is made and what it is made from depends on the product that it is being used to make. The products being created can for instance be made of plastic, metal, ceramics or glass. These materials are injected or poured in liquid form (heated if necessary) into the mould. Then (after cooling if required), the mould is removed and the object remains. Pottery also gets its shape from a mould, as do bronze bells for example. Making a mould uses mechanical shaping techniques that require specialist skills.
